Analysis of the flow of the precursor liquid film around the droplet is important to elucidate the principle of generation and spontaneous motion of microdroplet robots driven by laser light irradiation. However, as the precursor film is an ultra-thin film of several tens of nm, it has been difficult to visualise it using tracer particles. In this study, we have successfully visualised the precursor film flow around a droplet by generating multiple microdroplets by multi-point light irradiation using a microlens array (MLA).
