In seeking new possibilities for solar cells, thinfilm solar cells that are lightweight, flexible, and non-fragile have attracted a great deal of attention. In especially, the three brothers, GaAs-based solar cells with a sphalerite structure, CIS-based solar cells with a chalcopyrite structure, and FAPI-based solar cells with a perovskite structure, which are flexible thinfilm solar cells with photoelectric conversion efficiency exceeding 20%, are expected to play an active role in the future. In this presentation, the strengths and weaknesses of the three thinfilm solar cell brothers and their future prospects will be discussed.
