Aiming to improve the accuracy of solar power generation forecasts, we are conducting a proof of concept for a system that predicts cloud cover in the near future. Cloud cover analysis was performed on ground cloud camera images and on multiple points in satellite images at each time, respectively, to create cloud cover time series data. By performing cross-correlation analysis on the time series data obtained from ground cloud camera images and the time series data obtained from satellite images, we confirmed the time difference change in correlation peaks due to cloud movement. We report the results here.
