To improve the activity for water reduction of Cu2O photoelectrodes, we prepared SnO2/Cu2O photoelectrode by an excimer laser assisted metal organic deposition process. The photocurrent caused by water reduction under visible-light irradiation in the SnO2/Cu2O electrode prepared increased. This would be due to the formation of a pn junction at the interface between SnO2 and Cu2O, promoting charge separation.
