We prepared thin films of blends of thermoplastic elastomers and a homopolymer that provides hard segments. We deposited gold on the surfaces of the films through vacuum evaporation. Microphase separated structures were observed for the thin films of the thermoplastic elastomer on heating after the vapor-deposition. The homopolymer aggregated in a disc shape. Most of the gold particles were found in small regions with a large fraction of soft segments, as well as in the homopolymer-rich regions. The size of gold particles in the former regions were slightly larger than that in the latter regions. It is likely that the gold particles deposited on the thermoplastic elastomer migrated during heating and assembled in the small soft segment-rich regions, while the gold particles on the homopolymer did not move. On the other hand, gold particles were evenly distributed when we performed the deposition after the heat treatment.
