Spherical Si nanoparticles are known to change color with particle size in the visible light region due to Mie scattering. In this study, spherical Si nanoparticles were deposited using the PLA method. Mie scattering was observed in the dark field image of an optical microscope, and the color of the scattered light was compared with the average particle size, which was in good agreement with the particle size dependence of the Mie scattering theory. This indicates that the observation of Mie scattering is easier than SEM and can observe the particle size distribution over a wide area at once.
