To realize intra-chip optical communication, we have proposed a current-injected two-dimensional photonic crystal laser with circular defects (CirD), which we have been researching and developing. However, when the sample is cleaved and the output light is measured, the output light intensity varies depending on the cleavage position. This effect can be eliminated by installing a convex edge structure on the output end-face. In this study, we developed and established a fabrication technique for this structure, fabricated the sample, performed optical measurements, and observed room-temperature continuous-wave laser oscillation.
