As a means of performing precision spectroscopy in wavelength ranges where single-frequency/wavelength tunable CW laser light is not feasible, a nanosecond pulsed laser with good frequency purity can be used. In this study, we performed optogalvanic spectroscopy using a single frequency/wavelength tunable nanosecond pulsed laser and quantitatively evaluate the degree of accuracy that can be achieved by precision spectroscopy using a nanosecond pulsed laser compared to that using a CW laser.
