Non-Hermitian Skin Effect,photonic crystal

In recent years, research on the Non-Hermite Skin Effect (NHSE) has attracted attention. NHSE is a phenomenon in which bulk eigenmodes localize at boundaries, but there have been few experimental observations. In particular, it has not been observed in a continuous system described by a differential equation. In order to observe NHSE in a continuous system, we performed 3D simulations using realistic photonic crystal structures and materials. As a result, we discovered an observable mode above the light line with a high Q factor and a localization length of several micrometers.
