We have proposed σ-cavity EDF laser (EDFσL) -based laser-sensors using a double-pass cascade chirped LPG (C-CLPG) and improved their performances. In addition, we have previously developed a PM-EDFσL using a polarization-maintaining EDFA (PM-EDFA) and realized a more stable and accurate laser-type sensor. In this study, we have demonstrated an intensity-modulated sensing system utilizing the stable characteristics of PM-EDFσL.
