We investigated the use of PEDOT:PSS blend films with temperature-responsive polymers as a method of adding functionality to OECT. Since NIPAM segregation on the surface was observed in a previous report, PEDOT:PSS blend films were prepared using P(NIPAM-co-SSNa), which was copolymerized with NIPAM and SSNa in various proportions. Blend films have improved NIPAM segregation on the surface and the contact angle is close to that of PEDOT:PSS neat film. When blend films with P(NIPAM-co-SSNa) were used as an OECT active layer, it exhibited OECT depletion mode and improved gm compared to the blend film with PNIPAM.
