Highly oriented molecules are expected to improve optical properties and mobility in optoelectronic devices such as lasers and sensors. We have studied a molecularly-oriented azo dye film with a high dichroic ratio of 130. In this presentation, we investigate the relationship between the molecular packing and high orientational degree in the azo dye films.
