The thickness dependence of the crystallisation behaviour of C8-BTBT thin films from the liquid crystalline state was investigated, with the aim of controlling the crystallisation behaviour of thin films using changes in the film thickness within the substrate, which can be easily achieved using ordinary deposition equipment. The control of crystal growth of C8-BTBT thin films using changes in the thickness of the thin film within the substrate is also reported.
