Since OLEDs emit light by carrier recombination in the emission layer, they require a drive voltage corresponding to the energy gap of the emitting material. As a strategy to reduce the voltage, we have found Exciplex upconversion-type OLEDs (ExUC-OLEDs). However, although there are reports on red and blue OLEDs, research on green, which is essential as one of the RGB component colors of displays and has high visual sensitivity and high impact on display performance, has not progressed. In this study, we fabricated green ExUC-OLEDs using green light-emitting dopants or green triplet triplet upconversion (TTU) materials and evaluated device characteristics.
