In this study, we demonstrate multiband and angle-selective thermal radiation from a simple metal-dielectric-metal plasmonic resonator. Although this structure is well known as a spectrally selective emitter, we have shown analytically and demonstrated experimentally that when the thickness of the dielectric layer is much smaller than the wavelength of interest, directional thermal radiation with nearly equal angles can be obtained at multiple resonant wavelengths. This angle selection technique allows for more flexible thermal control based on radiative heat transfer.
