Optical wireless power transmission (OWPT) has attracted attention as a new energy transmission technology. We focused on CIGS solar cells, which are expected to be applied to OWPT as light-receiving devices because of their low cost. We investigated the effect of temperature rise of CIGS solar cells under laser light irradiation on their photoelectric conversion efficiency. As a result, CIGS solar cells were less susceptible to a decrease in photoelectric conversion efficiency at high temperatures in the near-infrared region. This result raises expectations for applications in OWPT systems in the near-infrared region.
