We previously reported that the in-plane domain fraction of REBCO coated conductors changes by keeping them at room temperature for several days under applied bending strain. This implies that the characteristics of REBCO conductors in coil applications could be significantly different from those of short-length conductors typically used for evaluations. However, the details of this phenomenon remained unclear.
In this study, we ivestigated impacts of changes in the domain fraction of REBCO coated conductors by performing (i) the domain control of REBCO coated conductors by applying bending strain and (ii) evaluation of superconducting properties of the domain-controlled samples under magnetic fields.
