superconductivity
The superconducting properties of RE124 do not change with oxygen content and RE124 is always orthorhombic. Y124 shows Tc = 80 K, which can be improved to Tc = 90 K by doping with Ca.
However, due to the weak bonding between crystal grains, the formation of a dense crystal-oriented microstructure is essential to improve the critical current properties of RE124 polycrystalline materials, but an effective method has not studied yet. In this study the fabrication of epitaxial thin films and c-axis oriented sintered compacts of RE124 was attempted.
