For REBa2Cu3Oy (REBCO) magnets operated in the persistent mode, the research and development of superconducting joints has progressed . Recently, we have evaluated the critical current of a joint (Icj) using the decay of a current flowing in a closed loop with a superconducting joint. Icj was evaluated for the intermediate grown superconducting (iGS) joint developed by Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. We report the field angular dependence of Icj in iGS joints.
