Students in engineering course can obtain a teaching license for high school teacher of technology without taking teaching subjects including teaching practice, if they take credits for "Vocational Guidance", necessary subjects in engineering, and the Constitution of Japan, Physical Education, a Foreign Language, and the Operation of Information Devices. In the Vocational Guidance, lectures were given to provide the necessary knowledge for finding employment and career development, including the minimum knowledge required for teaching.
