Patients with type 1 diabetes need to monitor their own blood glucose levels and administer insulin at the appropriate time, and the development of noninvasive methods for measuring blood glucose levels is strongly desired. One of the candidates is photoacoustic spectroscopy using mid-infrared light, which is the fingerprint region of molecules constituting biological tissues. In this study, we report the photoacoustic spectra of type 1 diabetics, whose blood glucose levels fluctuate more widely than those of normal subjects, and their analysis.
