We have presented a framework for evaluating the elastic modulus of optical fiber by calculating the natural vibration frequency of cantilever beam. Employing Euler-Bernoulli cantilever beam vibration theory, the fundamental mode frequency is measured experimentally. With known fiber density and dimensions, the modulus is derived.
