We observed terahertz waves from bulk MoTe2, a two-dimensional layered material, by terahertz time-domain emission spectroscopy using a femtosecond pulsed laser. The terahertz amplitude saturated with increasing pump fluence. This indicates that terahertz radiation is emitted from the surge current originating from the photogenerated carriers. We will discuss the carrier dynamics in more detail, including the results of the excitation wavelength dependence.
