The variational quantum eigensolver is a promising algorithm for practical applications on quantum computers for calculating the ground state energy of molecules. However, it has been pointed out that the gradient of the cost function disappears for more than a few qubits, and the gradient-free sequential optimization method has been proposed. In this study, we demonstrate that the number of observations required for circuits including fermion excitation operators can be significantly reduced compared to the conventional sequential optimization method, resulting in a three-fold speedup of calculations.
