While surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) are accompanied by spin angular momentum (SAM) transverse to the propagation direction, the SAM of SPPs does not exhibit optical chirality, making it difficult to observe the interaction of SPPs with chiral materials. In this study, we designed and evaluated plasmonic structures for the excitation of SPPs with a near-field associated with finite optical chirality.
