Photoluminescence enhancement from quantum dots through surface plasmon resonance is garnering significant interest and reported in many cases. We achieved remarkable photoluminescence enhancement from CdSe/ZnS quantum dots by using surface plasmon resonance of Ag nanostructures fabricated by thermal annealing. In this presentation, we will describe the sample fabrication process in detail, and discuss the enhancement mechanism and LED applications.
