Temperature-responsive luminescent organic crystals that undergo morphology or luminescence color changes are expected to offer application in micro-thermometric tips. However, designing reversible temperature responsibility and robustness in single organic crystals is very difficult; thus, there are no reports on such applications in organic materials. We challenged herein creating novel organic crystalline materials that show robustness and thermo-response, and reversible luminescence changes in the single crystal. In this presentation, we report relationships between crystal structure, thermophysical properties, and luminescence color.
