Tin halide perovskites have attracted much research interest as an alternative to lead-based perovskites. Among them, CsSnBr3 with a band gap of 1.8 eV and high stability shows great potential for various applications. Current research focuses mainly on solution-processed polycrystalline thin films. In this study, we explored the possibility of epitaxial CsSnBr3 on muscovite mica substrates by co-evaporation of CsBr and SnBr2. In contrast to the CsSnBr3 thin films grown at 30°C with small randomly oriented grains, (110) oriented thin films with enhanced absorption were obtained at a substrate temperature of 300°C on mica with large grains due to the higher surface diffusivity of the adatoms. Detailed properties of the CsSnBr3 thin film will be discussed.
