This work presented a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide-based Fano resonance (FR) sensor for refractive index (RI) based detection of human sperm in terms of its concentration and mobility. Three nanorod defects (NRD) were created in the bus waveguide to attain the FR effect. For the tested RI of human sperm, the autocorrelation coefficient and sensitivity of 99.97 % and 587.5 nm/RIU are obtained
