Cells, which are the fundamental units vital for biological processes, are enveloped by lipid bilayers containing membrane proteins. Complex changes in membrane properties such as membrane tension and membrane potential intricately regulate various cellular functions. However, directly visualizing and quantifying the interaction between membrane tension and membrane proteins is challenging. Therefore, we constructed a hybrid system combining an artificial cell membrane with adjustable measurement conditions and fluorescence imaging to visualize membrane tension.
