The authors focus on macrophages, which play an important role, and attempt to induce differentiation into M1 macrophages, which enhance their attack on pathogens, by atmospheric pressure oxygen plasma irradiation. From previous studies, it was found that plasma irradiation and the addition of T cell supernatant can also obtain effects other than phagocytosis. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the effect of plasma irradiation on cytokine production and other functions of a system simulating a macrophage-T cell coexistence system by measuring the amount of ROS and NO.
