We have investigated a Babinet complementary metal mesh filter as a robust bandpass filter in the terahertz band. In the present study, electromagnetic simulations show that the interaction between the Fabry-Perot resonant mode and a plasmonic mode localized in the metal mesh changes from crossing to anticrossing via an exceptional point. The exceptional point is a degeneracy specific to non-Hermitian systems, and we report that this structure can be a platform for non-Hermitian optics.
