[20p-A35-1] Mode analysis of a circular cavity with a partial gain region

Two-dimensional semiconductor microlasers with various cavity shapes have been fabricated and tested from viewpoints of both fundamental physics and laser engineering. Unpumped region is often formed along the periphery of the laser cavity when the electrode is formed using the lift-off process. In this work, I investigated the effect of the partial gain region on the resonance modes for a circular microcavity using the finite element method.
