We studied electroluminescence (EL) of single CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals using single-particle spectroscopy. By appropriately layering an insulating layer of suitable thickness on top of the single nanocrystals dispersed on a hole-conducting substrate, we promoted efficient charge recombination within the single nanocrystals. The EL blinking behavior was characterized by spike-like emission with varying intensities, rather than the two-level on-off behavior observed in photoluminescence (PL) blinking. The EL spectrum, similar to the PL spectrum, exhibited a narrow emission linewidth.
