Ultralow phase noise lasers are indispensable tools in a wide range of research fields, including cold atom systems. In recent years, such lasers have also been applied to quantum communication. In this presentation, we discuss the impact of the phase noise characteristics of conventional ultralow phase noise lasers, namely cavity-stabilized lasers, on quantum communication. We also introduce a new type of ultralow phase noise laser and present experimental results obtained by incorporating it into a fiber interferometer for quantum communication.
