We report on the development of trap electrodes, fluorescence collection lenses, and resonant circuits for a radio-frequency ion trap designed for applications in both quantum memory and precision spectroscopy. We also present theoretical calculations of quantum state transfer between Pr:YSO quantum memory and trapped ions in a quantum repeater using single-photon entanglement.
