We fabricated CdTe polycrystals with BN using a powder sintering method and evaluated their neutron detection characteristics. Surface SEM observations revealed that increase in particle size due to grain growth and a densified polycrystalline structure due to the sintering at 730℃. Upon neutron irradiation, a larger induced current was obtained in the BN-doped CdTe polycrystals compared to that without BN, indicating that neutrons can be detected in CdTe with BN.
