Boron neutron capture therapy has become available under health insurance coverage with the accelerator-based treatment systems, and the various treatment systems is developed. To increase the number of clinical cases, it is necessary to establish standardized measurement methods for the uniform evaluation of the performance and safety of treatment devices. In this study, we aim to develop a thermal neutron detector capable of pulse shape discrimination using a light guide. In this presentation, we will report on the results of evaluating pulse shape discrimination performance using simulation and detector positioning and shielding structures based on irradiation tests.
