Encapsulant-less crystalline-silicon (c-Si) photovoltaic (PV) modules have been developed to improve recyclability and replaceability of materials. Previously, we have established the ability of our vertical encapsulant-less modules to retain performance for half-cut connected cells after being subjected to vibration stress. In this work, we evaluate the physical stability of our modules for 15.6 cm x 15.6 cm Al-BSF and PERC cells. I-V characteristics pre- and post-vibration stress showed that our modules retained electrical performance, with as low as 0.053% ISC and 0.68% VOC difference. EL imaging also reveals no significant damage pre- and post-test. Finally, the vibration severity grms was calculated to be within 0.82% of the JIS standard, showing that our corner structure is effective in withstanding random vibrations. Further research is intended to test the physical stability when the module is placed vertical with respect to the vibration direction.
