This study investigates the peak multiplication of membrane-type acoustic metasurfaces by stacking them along the direction of sound propagation. Based on an equivalent model in which the membrane and air layer are regarded as a mass and a spring, respectively, the formation of multiple resonances in the multilayer structure is considered. Numerical simulations showed that the absorption peak frequencies tend to change with the air-layer thickness. In this presentation, the sound absorption characteristics of the multilayer structure and its potential as a design guideline for targeting specific noise frequencies will be introduced.
