We investigated the effect of optical vortex irradiation on plasmon excitation in a gold nanosphere dimer. The sample was dispersed on a glass substrate and excited with an optical vortex beam. In the obtained nonlinear photoluminescence excitation image, an enhanced excitation probability was observed around the dimer. Nonlinear photoluminescence excitation image was evaluated by electromagnetic simulations based on the discrete dipole approximation, and strong excitation around the dimer was also obtained, as in the experiment. However, differences in the orientational distribution were revealed, and we are currently investigating their origin.
