Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is widely used as a hole transport layer in inverted perovskite solar cells. PSS acts as a stable polymeric dopant, however, its insulating nature can impede charge transport. Self-doped π-conjugated polymers, which contain dopant groups within their molecular structures have potential to improve both conductivity and durability. In this study, we synthesized a self-doped π-conjugated polymer, poly[3-(4-sulfophenyl)thiophene], and prepared PEDOT/PSPT composites. Their properties were investigated toward application as hole transport layers in perovskite solar cells.
