[10p-PB2-13]Scintillation Performance Evaluation of Ce3+-Doped BaFBr Crystals

Scintillation detectors are among the most sensitive radiation detection devices. We have focused on BaFX (X = Cl, Br, I) as a promising material system with excellent scintillation performance. In this material family, numerous studies have been reported on Eu2+-doped crystals. In contrast, although Ce3+ also exhibits luminescence originating from 5d–4f transitions, similar to Eu2+, there have been few reports on Ce3+-doped BaFX crystals. In this study, Ce3+ was introduced into BaFBr crystals, where high light yield and fast decay are expected, and their scintillation properties were evaluated.
