Space debris has become a serious issue with the expansion of space activities, and laser ablation propulsion is attracting attention as a method for orbital control. In this study, the relationship between emission and thrust is investigated using VUV spectroscopy. Aluminum targets were irradiated with nanosecond lasers under different wavelengths and fluences, and emission in the 150–200 nm region was analyzed. Spectral lines of Al II and Al III were observed, and plasma characteristics were examined in relation to the momentum coupling coefficient (Cm).
