We report on a series of organic semiconductors with bent-shaped
π-conjugated frameworks. Notably, the zigzag-shaped ChDT framework suppresses thermal-induced fluctuations in orbital overlap through its unique HOMO orbital morphology, enabling high charge transport. In this study, we designed and synthesized alkyl-substituted PiDT derivatives to further improve performance via π-conjugation extension. The synthesized derivatives demonstrated excellent p-type semiconductor properties in devices based on deposited films.
