This talk introduces the Semiconductor Innovation and Co-creation Arena (SiCA), an education ecosystem for cultivating “semiconductor design orchestrators.” As Japan strengthens its semiconductor manufacturing base, a key challenge is to develop people who can translate social and industrial needs into circuit specifications and guide the process from concept to design, verification, and implementation. SiCA addresses this challenge through three pillars: a co-creation arena that frames social questions and semiconductor use cases; an integrated design curriculum using EDA tools to build practical chip-design capability; and an open learning platform that supports learners across regions and career stages. The talk also discusses SiCA’s transition from pilot offerings to full-scale programs and a sustainable operating structure.
