In this study, the relationship between structural disorder and propagation loss in semiconductor valley photonic crystal waveguides with bearded interfaces was analyzed. It was revealed that by introducing variations simulating fabrication errors to the side lengths of the air holes, propagation loss is significantly exacerbated in wavelength regimes characterized by a high group index. However, when the structural fluctuations are restricted to the sub-nanometer order, the escalation in loss is effectively suppressed, indicating that lower losses can be anticipated through process optimization.
