The iodine isotopic ratios in spring and hot spring waters are relatively low, only about one order of magnitude above the AMS detection limit, and therefore require low-background measurement techniques. We report on the current status of low-background AMS measurement of 129I and on a survey of iodine isotopic ratios in the Hokuriku region.
