[8a-A22-5]Ultrahigh-Q Perfect Absorption in Silicon Waveguide on Mirror Structure Associated with Bound State in The Continuum

Significant progress has been made in developing perfect absorbers with high efficiency and ultra-narrow bandwidth based on bound states in the continuum (BIC). However, the quality factor (Q-factor) remains limited. Here, we propose a waveguide structure combined with a metallic mirror to realize an ultra-narrow bandwidth perfect absorber through BIC. With proper spacer thickness, an absorptance larger than 0.97 and a Q-factor up to 1.4 x 10^7 are achieved, which is comparable to or even larger than values in reported studies.
