Josephson plasma emitter (JPE) based on a Bi2212 single crystal is a terahertz source whose emission frequency can be controlled by the applied voltage. In this study, we measured frequency-modulated spectra not only for the previously reported device but also for a newly fabricated device, and compared the changes in the maximum frequency deviation and peak spacing as a function of the modulation signal power. We confirmed common modulation-amplitude-dependent behavior in both devices and discuss the high-frequency modulation characteristics of JPE.
